Get your wheels turning for Action on Addiction!
My Prudential Ride London
The Prudential Ride London festival weekend has taken place each year since 2013 in honour of the UK hosting the 2012 Olympic Games. As the Ride London event can’t go ahead as planned this year due to the COVID-19 restrictions, the founders have come together to create their first virtual event across the same weekend, 15th and 16th August 2020.
This event has been created to inspire and engage people of all ages and abilities. Get on your bicycles, exercise bikes, scooters, skateboards, trikes, tandems, penny farthings, unicycles – or any form of non-motorised wheeled transport – moving or not moving.
All the fun of the challenge without the travel – you won’t have to actually go from London to Surrey, you can get in the miles locally, or even on an exercise bike from the comfort of your own home.
It is completely free to participate, and you can choose your own distance or stick to the set challenges – which are 19, 46 or 100 miles - that are ridden throughout the Prudential weekend. Take part individually or gather some family or friends and complete the challenge together to raise much needed funds for Action on Addiction.
Do I need to train? Yes, this is recommended for the set challenges. Please ensure you are at the appropriate level of fitness for the challenge that you choose, and above all, look after yourself.
There are just seven simple steps to take to register and take part:
Step 1. Head to the My Ride London website.
Step 2. Decide on your My Ride London challenge – 19, 46, 100 mile rides or freecycle your chosen distance over 1km.
Step 3. Set up your fundraising page with your chosen platform (Virgin Money Giving is recommended by the organisers.)
Step 4. Ask all your friends and family to sponsor you and challenge them to complete their own Ride London challenge.
Step 5. Download the My Prudential Ride London app (not yet released.)
Step 6. Complete your challenge.
Step 7. Share a photo or video of your challenge on social media with #MyPRL.
